The bars look delicious. can I use rice flakes instead of oatmeal?

Yes, oatmeal can be replaced with rice.

and instead of almonds can I put cashews?

Yes, you can put cashews instead of almonds.

At last month's Romexpo event, I saw and ate for the first time products of this kind that simply charmed me, but I don't have any sfturi, recipes, guidelines.
I would be particularly interested in the bars that can be taken in the bag for a snack during the day, but I am not inspired by what is on the market.

You can try to make it at home to avoid what is on the market.

Yesterday I tried a new recipe for bars that to my amazement turned out even better than the first. I made almond milk (see recipe) and having nothing to do with the composition, I thought not to throw it away and turn it into something good.

Pseudo-cereal and fruit bars

  • Servings: 4-6
  • Duration: 15mins
  • Difficulty: easy
  • print

  • 100 g dried figs
  • 4 tablespoons whole sesame seeds
  • 4 tablespoons raw buckwheat (green or cream)
  • 4 tablespoons chia seeds
The above are soaked for 10 minutes.
  • 5 apples
  • 10 dates or 200 g of raisins
  • 2 cups almond pulp left over from almond milk
  • 1 cup shelled or peeled hemp nuts (will be crispier)
  • vanilla essence / vanilla stick
  • 2 drops of rum essence
  • 5 tablespoons coffee beans, raw cocoa or carob powder
  • 1 cup = 250 ml

All ingredients are processed in a food processor. On a Teflon foil spread a sheet of dough, about 2-4 cm high. Portion using a toothless knife and put in the dehydrator for 7-10 hours. Check the consistency and when you think they are the way you want them, you can turn off the ripper. It is consumed in no more than a week, because after that it loses its texture and taste.

Store in a stapled paper bag. Do not put them in an airtight container, because over time they can mold, because I do not know how, they absorb any fine traces of moisture from the air (even if they are sealed).

Cereal bars with dried fruits, honey and seeds

Cereal bars with dried fruits, honey and seeds ideal for children and adults. They are a healthy, delicious and energizing snack or dessert.

Let me tell you a little about this recipe. It is very easy to make, it is made quickly and what is important are the bars are very healthy. I kept searching through my recipe books and finally found what I had long wanted to do for my dear nieces. Now let's finish the talk and get to work.

When it comes to seed bread, I instantly remember an exhibition where I tasted a multitude of types with black or wholemeal flour, with various seeds and of course with a crust so good that you ate it empty without thinking about it. any diet.

Today I will prepare a homemade seed bread recipe in which I will use a mix of white and wholemeal flour with a mixture of various seeds - pumpkin, flax, sesame and sunflower.

  • 400 gr. White flour
  • 200 gr. wholemeal flour
  • 250 ml. the water
  • 150 ml. Soya milk
  • 20 gr. fresh yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 50 ml. olive oil
  • 3 teaspoons seed mix

I start, as usual, with a mayonnaise that I prepare from yeast rubbed with sugar, a tablespoon of flour and very little warm water. After 10-15 minutes it is ready to be incorporated in the mixture of white and wholemeal flour.

I put the salt aside as much as possible so that it does not come into direct contact with the prepared yeast.

Gradually add the water and milk that I heated a little before, then knead the dough until I mix all the flour.

Pour the oil and continue kneading for 10-15 minutes until you get a very thick crust.

When I feel it is almost ready, I add the seeds, knead a few more times to incorporate them evenly, then I test the dough with my finger to see if it is ready. It returns to its original shape so I cover it with a foil greased with oil over which I put a towel and leave it to rise for about 50 minutes.

I sprinkle a little flour on the counter when I turn over the leavened crust, I take the air out of it through a very short kneading and I shape it so that it fits in my cake tray.

I leave it to rise for another 15-20 minutes, after which I grease it with a little water and then sprinkle some seeds and a flour powder.

Bake in two stages in the oven preheated to 210 °.

I will leave the bread at this temperature for the first time for 25 minutes and lower the temperature for another 20 minutes to 190 °.

It is really a very successful bread that barely reaches me for 2 days.

Ingredients for the recipe for cereal bars

  • 150 gr. raisins
  • 350 gr. muesli without added sugar
  • 150 gr. sesame
  • 150 gr. gluten-free sunflower core (goes well with salt or plain)
  • 150 gr. dried cranberries
  • 300 gr. seedless dried apricots
  • 200 ml polyfloral honey (or bee, forest)
  • 75 gr. Almond kernels

How do we prepare the recipe for Cereal Bars with Dried Fruits, Honey and Seeds?

Place in a tray lined with baking paper: sunflower seeds, muesli, sesame and bake for 10 minutes over medium heat to brown lightly.

Finely chop the almonds or mix them in a food processor.

Apricots, cranberries and raisins are hydrated for 20 minutes in warm water and then drained.

Apricots and cranberries, hydrated raisins drain and mix in the robot, adding honey until the composition becomes a thick paste.

In a bowl pour the dry composition of seeds (sunflower, sesame, muesli), chopped almonds, and the paste obtained. Mix very well. The composition will be sticky and bound.

The composition obtained from the bowl will be poured into the tray, pressing very well so that there are no gaps and that it can be cut.

My tips are:

If you do not have apricots, they can be replaced with figs, plums, dates. If you have one of these ingredients you can add 2-3 tablespoons of jam, or apricot jam, plums, or 2 bananas.

The recipe and the pictures belong to Mihaela Teodor Motroceanu and she participates in the competition "The great autumn contest, with guaranteed prizes, without drawing lots". You can find more recipes published by her here.

The average grade given by the jury for this recipe is 10.
